Scents of Wonder are six signature scents harvested from my own personal collection of thematic variations and layering experiments that simply turned into personal favourites from the TRNP range.
Traditionally, Ruh Khus is an attar distilled from wild vetiver, the roots of a very fragrant grass that brings a cooling and beautiful tranquility during very hot and humid weather. Frequently made into woven door screens, or thatched into mats that are sprayed and wetted with cool water during humid hot weather, the water evaporates in the heat and the fragrance is released, imparting an earthy, grounded calmness. I love the scents of vetiver essential oil and attar of ruh khus, however it’s difficult to locate this ingredient well in a modern fragrance without it completely overtaking the entire composition. Ruh Khus attar has a vegetal greenness that can be jarring and easily clash with other aromatic and floral ingredients.
Ruh Khus eau de parfum is my tribute to the cool green jewel, and is the happy result of a long journey of experimentation. It has taken me several years to find the balance of elements that highlight the cooling joy of Khus with the fresh floral respite of roses, jasmine, iris, sandalwood and the tart freshness of galbanum, bergamot and petitgrain.
